Sessions That Keep You Aging Fiercely!
Aging doesn’t have to slow you down. These classes all focus on areas of your health and fitness you need to build up so life doesn’t tear you down. From hormonal balance, deeper core strength, balance, metabolism and cardio boosting, and knee-safer light impact – this one course will help you age holistically well.
Strong but Approachable Classes
This course is for already strong, generally able-bodied students and teachers over 40. You should be able to work out and want to keep building next-level muscle tone, endurance and fitness, but want to learn a more efficient, age appropriate and sustainable way to do so.
What you need to take this course:
A yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks recommended.
Two light (1/2-5 lb) hand or wrist weights, and ankle weights optional but recommended.
You can’t turn back the clock, but you CAN become the best, most vibrant, energized, confident and strong version of yourself. And a lot faster than you think.
There are some pervasive myths about aging: that people over 40 start to lose a lot of strength and muscle tone or that your metabolism slows down each year.
None of this is actually not supported by science and we now know that if you keep strength training, you won’t naturally have any metabolic decline until around age 60. Even then it’s not much – and can be turned around through exercise.
A lot of the sluggishness and weakness we associate with aging can be avoided or even reversed by building lean muscle mass and regularly moving intensely, for short bursts. But as we age, we have to balance working out strongly with mindful joint health. In this course, you’ll do both!

Meet your teacher:
Hi, I’m Sadie – I’m 52 now, and my hair’s pretty different too! The practice, however, is the same – and it still works wonders.
After a severe spinal injury in my teens, I made it my mission to empower people of all ages and abilities to find their physical and emotional strength, resilience and freedom again.
I’m a lifelong yoga and fitness teacher, and a total anatomy nerd. I’m Harvard – certified in anatomy, Stanford-certified in exercise physiology, the founder of The Somatic Flexibility Technique®, Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga®, an anatomy-enhanced yoga style, and The Yoga Shred®, a joint-safer HIIT + Yoga fitness style .
I currently live in Santa Barbara, California – and proud mom of three kitties, Bowie, Freddie, and Annie!
